Coding is not just a skill or a career choice, when bolstered with passion it becomes a craft...always evolving and improving. This is not my job; it is my passion. I am not a developer, I am an artist, my paint is technology, and the digital spectrum is my canvas.

I am analytical in nature with an 'outside the box' mind-set. I don't believe there is something as an unsolvable problem. I ask: “how I can solve it?” rather than “can it be solved?”. Dedicated and passionate about IT. Excellent problem-solving skills; Ability to think quickly and act fast.

I am passionate about everything I do. The dedication stems from the belief that we are all obligated to put back into society at least equal to what we take out of it, and I would like to leave this world knowing that I contributed in some way, in leaving it in a better state than it was when I came into it.

Responsibilities • Develop new systems for the company in Progress (OpenEdge) • To update current applications to the new coding standards • Development of new reports using SAP Crystal Reporting • Development of bug fixes and change requests on the various solutions we developed. Achievements • I developed a tool to calibrate and map fields for pre-printed fan-fold paper. This was done when I was attending to a change request to update the dot matrix printers ‘Skip settings when the forms were updated. The company have amended the skips settings manually for the past 8 years. This decreased the time spent on the calibration for 2-3 days of trial and error to a matter of minutes.

Responsibilities • Testing of Software developed by MagnaBC • Updating of Functional Test Documents • Communicating bugs found in the system • Attempting to find ways to improve the usability of the software tested. • Reporting the project progress on a day-to-day basis to the Project Manager Achievements • Was one of the software testers that helped bring the DoD MMHRS PDA project to completion. This is a mobile application developed for the South African Department of Defense as an electronic aid for Medics deployed in the field. • I am the Testing lead on the House Plates Application System developed for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The testing of the software includes working with Geographical map data and High end biometric capture devices. • During my employment at Magna BC, I have made numerous improvements in the way the Functional Test Documents are set up and the way bugs and shortcomings are handled and documented.

Responsibilities • Development and improvement of the microfilm departments solution • Development ,Load Testing and Implementation of new software developed • Technical support for newly developed and implemented software solutions • Development and technical support for our offices in Midrand and in Cape Town • Overseeing the deliverables compilation and delivery to our clients • Uploading (inserting documents and document information) the deliverables into our clients databases • Resolving and or identifying issues during production, delivery and uploading of the deliverables • Training my junior developer and infrastructure staff members with the aim of distributing tasks to them • Distributing tasks to my junior developer Achievements • Increased the microfilm production by nearly 70 percent since I started working at AST • Developed Automation Solutions that is currently keeping our production line automated • Developed Monitoring Systems that Keeps track of all the relevant processes on all our document conversion servers • Developed Logging systems generating production reports real time • Replaced the XML Indexing App with one that increased the output speed by 70 percent • Wrote a deliverables validation application that detects document errors and resolves them automatically, this increased the amount of clean data we deliver to our clients • Wrote a Java Upload application that inserts the documents and relevant data into an oracle database • Wrote Shell Scripts(Linux) to enable other staff members to write and restore the deliverables using an HP LTO3 Tape Library • Wrote a Management System that controls the way our IRIS document servers do their conversions making them less error prone and more productive • Implemented production changes that greatly eliminated the duplicate conversions of documents and reduced the amount of production line errors • Implemented changes to the production process that made the production line faster and eliminated the server storage issues caused by the surplus of raw scanned data that stopped production on numerous occasions
